Brillantmont International School in Lausanne was established in 1882 and is owned by the fifth generation of the founding family. Our private boarding and day school is internationally accredited and welcomes students who are 12-18 years old. We believe in stimulating a curiosity for knowledge, to enable each student to reach his /her potential in a homely environment.

Brillantmont offers a British or an American programme during the school year, preparing students for entrance to universities worldwide. The school also runs a summer course in July and August to learn French or English with sports.

Brillantmont encourages students to realize their potential by providing them with the right tools for learning. Class sizes are limited to 15 students and monthly progres reports keep students on track of their academic objectives. Great emphasis is placed on technology and it is regularly incorporated into the classroom teaching, taking advantage of the campus-wide wireless facilities. Brillantmont is one of the most prestigious private education institutions in the world, owned by the same family for over 125 years. We have been accredited for nearly thirty years by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, which is a guarantee that the school strives to maintain high standards. We are a centre for Cambridge International Examinations and also for PSAT and SAT examinations.

Programs review
Brillantmont offers a British programme (Years 9-13) leading to IGCSE and A Level examinations.
We also offer an American programme (Grades 8-12) leading to a High School Graduation Diploma. PSAT, SAT 1 and SAT 11 examinations are prepared and sat in school. TOEFL examinations are taken in the area, should they be required.
About half our students are in the British programme and about half in the American programme. The different programmes offer a range of opportunities for higher education.
We also run a short stay Winter Course from January from 5 to 9 weeks for students coming from countries currently on vacation, in order to learn French or English.

Activities: school clubs, excursions, cultural events
We believe that personality is built by hard academic work and diversification of interests at Brillantmont. Therefore, our school has extra-curricular activities: art and design club; dance classes (ballet and modern); music lessons (violin, piano, saxophone, and guitar); photography club; tennis club; sport teams, Model United Nations club and much more. During the weekends and holidays, we organise excursions and sometimes travel to European cities, such as Paris, Milan, Strasburg, and other places. Due to the school’s location – Lausanne – a rich cultural center - students are able to attend theaters, ballet performances, shows, cinemas or concerts.

Teaching methods and results
All our classes are taught in English but every student learns French, the host language. We are able to personalise timetables based on students‘ ability in order for them tob e challenged. Every student has a personal tutor with whom he or she meets regularly to offer support and encouragement in all domains.

Infrastructure
Brillantmont is set in a large, leafy park in the centre of Lausanne, just five minute’s walk from the shops and other amenities. The buildings are late 19th century but have all been modernised inside to provide appropriate levels of comfort. Students are housed in single or twin rooms, separated based on age and gender and cared for by a resident teacher. All meals are taken in school and a choice of a vegetarian or a meat based menu is offered.

Brillant Mont Switzerland Boarding School is located in the center of Lausanne. Lausanne city is situated in French speaking part of Switzerland. It is the capital of Olympic and the city of learning (the location is famous for international universities and institutes). Lausanne has an excellent cultural agenda for students: museums, art exhibitions, cinemas. Additionally, the Swiss nature offers majestic panorama and the enjoyment of water sports in summer, as well as, skiing, in winter.
