Leysin American Switzerland boarding High School educates children to be responsible, productive, and ethical citizens. We are an independent Swiss boarding school that focuses on university preparation for grades 9-12 (as well as optional PG and 13th grades). In addition to the fact that our student body is 350 (from six continents representing all major religions and cultures of the world, with approximately one third being American passport holders); our average classroom size is 14; the teacher-student ratio is 1 to 8; - our graduates have excellent placements in North American, European and Far Eastern universities. Students are offered an American high school diploma or International Baccalaureate, with additional options of individual AP or IB classes to suit particular interests.

Admission & acceptance
Leysin is a co-educational boarding school for grades 9-12, as well as post-graduate program, or 13 grade. We welcome to enroll students of all faith, races and cultural backgrounds. The admission procedures are well explained in FAQ section; financial aid is provided only for qualified students who have an excellent academic record and the ability to contribute to school community.

Programs & classes
All of our Switzerland boarding school classes are college preparatory, in addition to core American courses, we prepare students for IB diploma – prestigious international document. We offer post-graduate year for students who has already received their high school diploma and seek to improve their SAT/TOEFL scores, to take additional courses and to enter the University of their Preference.

Weekend trips
During the boarding school year, our students accompanied by faculty participate at educational and cultural weekend trips to other countries in Europe, promoting global awareness and intercultural growth. The pope spirit and values come to life in the city of Vatican; the ancient Roman architecture casts glamour on our students’ minds. Athens welcomes our boarding school travels. Our students are asked write reports as an active study task while traveling.

Our intranet projects assist in establishing relations between parents, school, and alumni. Boarding School collected a rich library, with more than 14 000 information resources. Location of the school
Our school is located at the Swiss mountain village of Leysin, known as the educational capital of the Alps. The location is blessed with spectacular views, good ski slopes and an infrastructure, which can not be paralleled to any location of the world. The region is situated in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It is known internationally for its revitalizing and sunny climate. With a population of only 3000 residences, Leysin is small and cozy village which is sufficient for our students to be both secure and part of a real Switzerland boarding school society.
