Our skiing season starts in early January and finishes in late March. Students spend two afternoons a week skiing and snowboarding on the Leysin slopes. We take lessons and our experienced ski and/or snowboard teams compete against other international school. Lessons are provided by the professionals of Swiss Ski School. Achievement in skiing is rewarded with annual skiing pass, which allows unlimited access to the Leysin regional slopes. The ski season presents an exclusive opportunity for our students to enjoy the sun, snow, speed, mountain, and family company. It has become a long standing tradition of Leysin Boarding School. However, we understand that there are a few people who may not be comfortable with downhill skiing, or who may be suffering from maladies. As a result, we offer a few alternative options to downhill skiing such as: cross country skiing, snowshoeing and/or ice-skating. We do require all American Switzerland boarding school girls and boys to participate in one of our winter activities’ options in order to keep the Swiss traditions and Alpine spirit alive.
